8 great #AppleEDUchat voices to follow

Apple is one of the biggest names in EdTech. In fact, iPads basically started off the in-class device movement for schools. This movement even has its own community over on Twitter. It’s led by the AppleEDU account and you can follow the movement by using #AppleEDUchat.

To get you started with building the people and accounts you should be following and talking to, we put together a list of our top 8 suggestions:

@AppleEDU

It should come as no surprise that the world leaders in innovative technology (as Apple is so often described) are also stimulating conversation on Twitter with their own AppleEdu account. This stream is great because you get information straight from the source about updates, features and teaching inspiration.

 @iLearn2Primary

iLearn2 is a great resource that offers a wide range of computing activity packages for junior school students. Additionally, their Twitter feed gives you tips on how to use them and examples of how other teachers have done so in their classrooms. The best part is, these resources are made by teachers so you know that they are answering the questions you’re asking.

@drMcGettigan

Dr Joan McGettigan wears many hats – director of instructional technology at a school, teacher, scholar, speaker and mom. You can bet she understands the needs of a classroom that uses Apple EdTech. Her feed is full of useful information about how technology should intersect with the human side of teaching.

@DavidLeeEdTech

David Lee is a big supporter of how EdTech is a vital part of STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). He is also a teacher who regularly speaks at conferences to help inspire and educate teachers about the technology that is out there for them to use.

@AliciaBankhofer

What do you get when you cross a self-professed geek with a teacher? Alicia Bankhofer – teacher and Apple EdTech enthusiast. Her Twitter account is a great resource for teachers who want to explore technology and have fun creating new things in their classroom with their students.

@mat6453

Matthew Pullen leads the @ThinkCreativeEd movement, which is all about looking at education in a different way. This initiative aims to get teachers thinking creatively about how EdTech can be used in the classroom. His Twitter feed is full of ways to use the different elements of AppleEDU and inspiration to help keep things creative in the classroom.

@EdTechMason

Mason may not be a school teacher but he is an Apple Teacher with plenty of passion for and expertise on how the products should be used in a classroom. His Twitter account covers a range of apps, products and resources that can all be used by a teacher to make exciting and innovative lessons. Mason uses his personal knowledge (based on a Doctorate in Education) to recommend AppleEDU content.

@BronwynWrites

Another Apple Teacher, Bronwyn Desjardins is passionate about combining technology and teaching. She is an Educational Technology Coach at a school and clearly loves to share EdTech resources on her Twitter feed. She’s very active in the #AppleEDUchat conversation, making her a great follow.

Twitter is such an important resource for teachers, especially when it comes to EdTech. The advances are all happening so quickly and the instant communication available on the platform make it a great way to keep up with what’s happening. Twitter certainly helps us at Mobile Guardian keep up to date with what’s going on out there. We hope this list of AppleEDU tweeters is as useful to you as it is to us.
